In January 2025, I learned that my colon cancer had returned and spread to my liver. Two weeks later, my son Brantley was born.

Becoming a father while facing my own mortality changed everything. I’m fighting not just to survive, but to stay present, loving, and grounded for my family.

I committed fully to healing—physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Alongside my oncology care, I chose a more intentional and non-traditional approach than most patients are offered. I adopted a strict ketogenic lifestyle, added targeted supplements and carefully researched off-label medications, and began tracking labs, symptoms, and responses with discipline. I didn’t reject modern medicine—I worked with my doctors while refusing to be passive about my own health.

The results have been encouraging. My tumor marker (CEA), once extremely high, has dropped by over 99%, and recent imaging has shown a significant reduction in cancer activity, including periods of improvement that began before restarting chemotherapy and continued through long breaks. I continue working closely with my medical team while integrating what has proven effective for me.

This season has also tested me emotionally and spiritually.

There are days when the weight of it all is heavy, and I stumble under it. But my faith in God—and my understanding of His heart as a Father—has never been clearer. Becoming a dad myself has given me a living picture of love that doesn’t abandon weakness or turn away on the hard days.

The mental and emotional tools I’m using—stillness, reflection, honest prayer, music, and reframing how I see myself and God—aren’t abstract ideas. They are helping me survive.

That combination of medical intention, non-traditional exploration, emotional honesty, and spiritual grounding is what fuels Veritas.

Veritas is my commitment to share what is actually helping me through this fight—through music, encouragement, honest conversation, and practical health insight drawn from lived experience—so others facing fear, illness, loss, or major life transitions don’t feel alone.
